How do I customize my dashboard?

Tap the "Customize Dashboard" button on your main screen. You can:

  • Add or remove cards by tapping the + button
  • Drag and drop cards to rearrange them
  • Choose from 24+ different card types including symptoms, medications, insights, and more
  • Your preferences are saved automatically and sync across your devices via iCloud

How does HealthKit integration work?

Tract integrates with Apple Health to provide comprehensive tracking. To enable:

  • Go to Settings → HealthKit Integration
  • Grant permissions for the data you want to track (sleep, activity, heart rate, etc.)
  • Tract will automatically sync this data and show correlations with your symptoms
  • All data stays on your device - we never access your HealthKit information

Is my health data private?

Absolutely. Privacy is our foundation:

  • All your health data is stored locally on your device using Core Data
  • We never access, upload, or share your health information
  • Optional iCloud sync is encrypted end-to-end using your private iCloud account
  • No account required - you can start tracking immediately

How do I export my data?

You can export your health data in multiple formats:

  • Go to Settings → Export Data
  • Choose PDF for comprehensive health reports to share with your doctor
  • Choose CSV for data analysis in spreadsheet applications
  • Select your date range and what data to include
  • Share via email, AirDrop, or save to Files

What insights does Tract provide?

Tract analyzes your data to help you understand patterns:

  • Symptom correlations - discover what triggers your symptoms
  • Trend analysis - see how your health changes over time
  • Medication effectiveness tracking
  • Sleep, activity, and diet impact on your symptoms
  • All analysis happens on your device using privacy-preserving techniques

How does iCloud sync work?

Optional iCloud sync keeps your data in sync across your Apple devices:

  • Go to Settings → iCloud Sync to enable
  • All data is encrypted and stored in your private iCloud account
  • Changes sync automatically across your iPhone, iPad, and other devices
  • You maintain complete control - disable anytime to keep data local only

Troubleshooting

HealthKit data isn't syncing

If HealthKit data isn't appearing in Tract:

  • Check Settings → HealthKit Integration and ensure permissions are granted
  • Open the Health app and verify data is being recorded
  • Go to iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Tract and check permissions
  • Try toggling the permission off and on again
  • Restart the app and check again

iCloud sync isn't working

If your data isn't syncing across devices:

  • Verify you're signed into the same iCloud account on all devices
  • Check iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud and ensure iCloud Drive is enabled
  • Make sure you have an active internet connection
  • Check Settings → iCloud Sync in Tract and ensure it's enabled
  • Try toggling iCloud sync off, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on

Notifications aren't appearing

If you're not receiving reminders:

  • Go to iPhone Settings → Notifications → Tract
  • Ensure "Allow Notifications" is enabled
  • Check that alerts, sounds, and badges are configured as desired
  • In Tract, go to Settings → Reminders and verify they're enabled
  • Make sure Do Not Disturb or Focus modes aren't blocking notifications

Export isn't working or files won't open

If you're having trouble exporting data:

  • Ensure you have enough storage space on your device
  • For PDF exports, make sure you have a PDF reader app installed
  • For CSV exports, try opening in Numbers, Excel, or Google Sheets
  • If the share sheet doesn't appear, try restarting the app
  • Check that you've selected a valid date range with data

App is slow or crashing

If you're experiencing performance issues:

  • Make sure you're running the latest version of Tract from the App Store
  • Ensure your iPhone is running iOS 18.0 or later
  • Try force-quitting the app and reopening it
  • Restart your iPhone
  • If issues persist, contact support with details about your device model and iOS version
